Solution

With a small budget and only two months before the doors were opening, we had our hands full. The main space was a maze of cubicles, the floor was covered in three layers of vinyl tile that needed to be removed while not damaging the concrete beneath. We demolished everything in two days and utilized the old mastic patterns to create a black patina on the concrete deck. After diamond grinding the floor we finished it with a gloss epoxy.

The finished look is creative, accidental, and absolutely beautiful. The walls were constructed slightly bowed in places to give a meandering effect, making the edit rooms appear less “blocky” and the space less corporate. We maintained as many original industrial elements as possible; like the old scrolled radiators and brick walls which we sandblasted and finished with a clear matte finish.

Reclaimed doors from an old law office, library and the Plaza Hotel give the space a unique look—simple, elegant, and “Hollywood” approved.
